What's Included
Card Terms & Rewards
Annual fees, purchase/penalty/cash-advance/balance-transfer APRs, grace periods, base earn rates, bonus categories, and sign-on bonuses.
Derived Value Metrics
Net value, break-even spend, cost of carry, and payoff timelines computed across 4 consumer spending personas — Transactor, Average, Revolver, Minimalist.
Issuer Financials
SEC EDGAR financials (revenue, net interest income, loss provisions, charge-offs) and FDIC Call Report credit metrics, joined by issuer and quarter.
Securitization Trust Data
Performance metrics — receivables balance, account volume, average balance per account, payment rate, gross/net default rate, portfolio yield, and delinquency-aging trends (30/60/90+ day buckets) — extracted directly from issuers' SEC 10-D trust filings, for the largest card issuers that securitize receivables publicly. History depth varies by issuer, with some trusts covered back to the mid-2000s.
Methodology
Data is sourced from CFPB's terms survey, historical web archives, and live extraction for the current quarter, merged via a documented source-priority hierarchy. Every field's source is tracked, and where no source has ever reported rewards data for a card, a disclosed, conservative category-typical estimate is used rather than leaving an unexplained gap — flagged explicitly, never blended silently with observed data.
The dataset is delivered as a processed, analysis-ready table (CSV or JSON) — no further cleaning required.
